Improvement of Armenian citizens' confidence in government decision making process

Abstract

The transparency in governmental decision-making process is considered to be a basis for democratic institutions settlement and country development. The main and the most vital element of transparency in governmental decision-making process is the presence of citizen society which is lacking in Armenia and in many post soviet countries. After the collapse of the USSR the problem of citizen society development appeared. Though democratic forms of government were officially declared the political perception of society remained unchangeable.

Taking into consideration the abovementioned we aim to provide the accessibility of governmental activities for various strata of society. From this point of view the given project has both theoretical and practical value.

There are 3 project objectives:

  1. The research and in-depth analysis of the issue from different sides (historical, social, legal) in order to clarify all the aspects of the chosen topic;
  2. The publication of project materials to enhance the interest to this issue and the distribution of the research outcomes to public;
  3. To provide workshops and conferences to highlight the results of project and to raise the issue on a new level.

We have very specific benchmark. We plan to conduct tests for the participants of the conferences and seminars in order to get clear idea on how the society responds to this issue and also for getting outcomes on the work done.
